I had high hopes for this movie, but the entire time it felt like nothing had transpired, the characters were not likeable or relatable in any way and often things didn't make sense or have any point to the story, especially the graphic parts. They didn't add to the narrative. It was entirely and unnecessary too long, but even if it had been shorten I'm not sure it would've solved the issue that nothing really happened both with Brody's character or the actual message of the film. At times the dialogue seemed really contrived and that the actors themselves didn't want to say it. The cinematography was good, but acting was hit or miss at times especially from the supporting cast. It ends with years ahead, not really telling you what happens to Guy Pierce or what Brody's character does and is not satisfying in any way. Again, unsure of what the point was for this story as there wasn't much of one. , The Brutalist is a 2024 epic period drama film directed and produced by Brady Corbet, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mona Fastvold.
