(WBTV) - Twenty-seven people were arrested this month during a massive operation in Burke County, deputies announced last week.Multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated in “Operation: RED” on Feb. 12 and 13, resulting in the apprehensions.The mugshots of those arrested can be seen below.27 arrested in Burke County operation(Courtesy: Burke County Sheriff's Office)Deputies said the operation focused on ensuring that “high-risk offenders were complying with court-ordered conditions while also gathering information regarding narcotics activity, gang involvement, and ensuring sex offender compliance.”According to reports, during the round-up, probation officers conducted compliance checks on offenders under supervised probation due to several community complaints and law enforcement information.By the end of the operation, authorities had executed 39 searches -- 30 of which were successful -- leading to 27 arrests.--> Also read: Among those apprehended, deputies said three probationers were found maintaining a dwelling for narcotics, including one involved in fentanyl trafficking.Nineteen charges for simple possession of meth, cocaine, and fentanyl were issued along with 14 for possession of drug paraphernalia.Additionally, deputies said multiple guns were seized for unlawful possession which included one case involving a felon in possession of a firearm.The Burke County Sheriff’s Office advised several cases remain under investigation.--> Also read: Copyright 2025 WBTV.
