Well, I wish I could say a few positive things about this chain. I mounted it on my Stihl MS361 and went to cut up two felled ash trees for firewood. It never made it through one tank of fuel before it was too dull to cut any further. I tried both bucking and noodle cutting. There was no comparison between this chain and Oregon 72LGX or Husqvarna X-Cut. In all, I would give those two brands and A and this Upstart CSC-D72 a D+. You might be able to cut softwoods with it (cottonwood, poplar, linden, etc.) but forget about ash or oak. It simply did not last, got hot, and eventually started to smoke. I'll sharpen it and try again, but I doubt that will show much improvement over the out-of-the box performance I observed., Upstart seems to be a Stihl copy that uses the Oregon letter identifying code. and made in Husqvarna drive link sizes. One can get it at walmart.com or on eBay., I'm looking for a low priced bar to give to an older guy on fixed income. 20" .325 .050 78dl k095 mount. The best deal I've found is upstart components. I've never heard of them. It probably won't see any heavy use just want to make sure it would be usable. Thanks..
Don't buy an Upstart Components 24" D 176guide bar from scamazon, unless you know how to mod to be a "semi" D176. The Upstart .325 uses the Stihl splicing components (not the ones for the 23rspro 3690 stuff) if I recall correctly., Saw that age, its worth going over it and checking/ replacing the rubber components like intake boot, impulse, fuel hose, fuel filter, and give it a carb kit as well. Also due to the intake boot design, they can collect fuel when idling, (called fuel puddling) and cause it to stumble and finally stall out., I've got a CS-590 that I got for pretty cheap. Looking for chain recommendations. I cut a small amount for firewood during the winter and while camping. Looking at the Oregon PowerCut 72LPX070G chain right now, any better options?.
