This project analyzes the energy consumption breakdown by source for the top 5 energy-consuming countries: China, the United States, India, Russia, and Japan., 🔝 Leading Countries in Total Primary Energy Consumption Based on data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) and other sources, the following countries topped the list in 2023: China : Approximately 161.9 exajoules (EJ), accounting for about 27.4% of global primary energy consumption., China, the United States, and India were by far the largest consumers of primary energy globally. On a per capita basis, it was Qatar, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Iceland to have the, Oil is the most consumed energy source, mainly due to transportation needs, while natural gas is the leading fuel for electricity generation.
