I never thought of any connection with the video game, but I've wondered about this song's meaning for years. Even before there were allegations that Michael Jackson might have abused children or been abused himself, the lyrics felt dark. Something that "crawls into a bathroom window" to "bite him with your love" doesn't sound consensual and the victim is apparently male. ( Though in the first verse, it's to "give them all your love" so that hints at more than one victim.) Snakes and centipedes are predators and they're phallic symbols. Michael Jackson would have known that. He may have written some fluff, but he was not stupid. He wasn't known for deeply sexual metaphor, but occasionally ("I'm melting/Like hot candle wax") he went there. The song is upbeat, pretty much cheerful, and some of they lyrics show longing for "the centipede's touch". That could be the confusion of the "subject" enjoying the predator's attention, but also hating it. ("You'll be crying in the night so many tears.") That's so unsettling that I'd be happy to be incorrect. , Rebbie is a the tiger of desire, and she is on the prowl in this video! This stuff is really deep!
