All Utility Operators are required to maintain both the water distribution and the Water Collection system. Our team receives training ongoing training for their professional development, all manner of excavation equipment, and safety requirements. We currently serve 6,425 water customers. Each of our water pumping stations as well as our sanitary sewer lift stations have back-up generators in the event of a power failure. Water Distribution SystemOver the past year we delivered more than 720 million gallons of high-quality drinking water to our customers. That equals more than 2,200 acre/feet of water. Cibolo receives nearly all our drinking water from Canyon Regional Water Authority while just over 2.5% of our water comes from the City of Schertz. Our Team conducts required TCEQ water quality testing, which is done daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. The Utility Department operates and maintains three elevated water storage tanks which store 4 million gallons in total and two ground storage tanks which stores 2 million in gallons total. We also maintain two water pumping stations which have eight high service pumps each capable of moving 1,500 gallons per minute. We provide routine maintenance, repairs and installation on all of water mains, water meters, fire hydrants, and water control valves.
