24/7 LivePhiladelphiaPennsylvaniaNew JerseyDelawareWelcome, Mickeymickey@disney.comManage MyDisney AccountLog Out armored car heist3 arrested for stealing more than $2M in June armored truck robbery outside Philadelphia Home DepotBy6abc Digital Staff Wednesday, August 13, 2025 8:33PMThree men have been arrested in connection with a June robbery of a Brinks armored car, in which more than $2 million was stolen, officials announced on Wednesday.PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Three men have been arrested in connection with a June robbery of a Brinks armored car, in which more than $2 million was stolen in Philadelphia, officials announced on Wednesday.An investigation revealed the heist was an inside job.Daishaun "Daisha" Hughes-Murchison, 30; Brian Wallace, 31; and Trayvine Jackson, 31, all of Philadelphia, have been arrested and charged with robbery interfering with interstate commerce, as well as use of a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime.All three had their initial court appearances last week.Jackson has been ordered detained, and Wallace and Hughes-Murchison will have detention hearings later this week.The trio is accused of robbing a Brinks vehicle on June 21 near the Home Depot in the 2500 block of Castor Avenue in Philadelphia's Port Richmond section.The driver was walking down a rear alley of the store when he was approached from behind by two armed men with AR-style rifles, according to police.The men allegedly forced the driver onto the ground and took his company-issued weapon, as well as his keys.Police said one of the robbers stayed with the driver while the other two entered the armored vehicle and stole cash inside.Two of the men then took off in a black Hyundai Sonata that had a Virginia temporary tag, while the third man followed in a silver Ford Fusion with a Pennsylvania tag.Investigators say the Ford belonged to Hughes-Murchison, and that the Hyundai Sonata had been rented by Wallace, who returned the car a few hours after the robbery.Surveillance video allegedly shows that after returning the Sonata, Wallace walked to Hughes-Murchison's Fusion, got into the passenger side and the vehicle drove off.Police say cell records place the phones of Wallace and Jackson in the area of the car rental site at that time. They also said records place Wallace's and Hughes-Murchison's phones in the area of the Home Depot at the time of the robbery.According to court filings, Brink's told investigators that Jackson had been a Brink's employee until he was suspended and then terminated after an internal investigation.This case was investigated by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Amanda R. Reinitz.News of the arrests in the case comes just a day after another armored truck was robbed by two armed men in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania.
