We are turning cases of non-RCT mistakes, near misses, and patient harm into AI guided videos for YouTube. Government members and the public watch these videos and they help to bring a spotlight to these issues. One of our board members was sent three cases in one morning! Since our last email asking for YouTube video cases, we haven't received any submissions. It doesn't need to be long or formally formatted, but the facts need to be apparent and we can turn it into a video that the public will understand and relate to. As such, the OSCT will award CEUs to the following:First five (5) cases received will be awarded five (5) CEUsthen the next five (5) will receive four (4) CEUsthen the next five (5) will receive three (3) CEUsthen the next five (5) will receive two (2) CEUsthe cases thereafter will receive one (1) CEUPlease submit you cases to president@osct.ca starting today December 11th, 2024. The OSCT Board of Directors is excited to open registration for the 2024 Education Day and Annual General Meeting. Once again, we are offering both virtual and in-person attendance. We have lined up some dynamic and interesting speakers for the Education morning and as always this will be followed by the Annual General Meeting., Resource page for OSCT members of downloadable forms and templates for ease of use and scope of practice., The current function of the OSCT is to: - ensure members maintain in good standing through annual dues payment to the association and submission of continuing education units (CEU’s) in compliance with the CEU Standards focusing on Cardiology and patient safety., The Ontario Provincial government has been approached by the OSCT, and have even hired a lobbyist, and lawyer to consult in 2022 -2023 to help guide us through this process. We have learned that the process is long, laborious, and expensive., With technology advancing so rapidly, the OSCT is working to upgrade and maintain national professional standards in the field of Cardiac testing. Today we have over 1100 Associate and Registered members in Ontario., In order to become (and remain) a member In Active and Good Standing of the OSCT, members are required to: · Successfully complete an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program · Successfully complete either the CSCT Certification Exam or CCI (CCT and CRAT) exams · Pay annual dues.
