While you can configure the stick to use with your right or left hand with the included accessories, the throttle is ergonomically designed to fit your left hand, thus my playing style is: Mouse - Right hand, used for cockpit interaction., left-hand on throttle, right hand on flight stick. As you can see, the left hand operates the throttle and the right operates the flight stick. This is how every military aircraft with a HOTAS operates. Unfortunately for some of us, I spent a lot of time as a kid flying with just a cheap joystick, and of course I used my left-hand because I'm , If you like to take notes while you fly (copy clearances, ATIS, dead reckoning math, etc.) you want your writing hand to NOT be on the stick. For a lefty sitting in the left seat, that means right hand on the stick and left hand on the throttle., You will find a few left handed joysticks but as far as I am aware there is no such thing as a left handed throttle unit (one you use with the right hand). For left handed joysticks, you could look at the VIRPIL, the new Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack Airbus Edition HOTAS, or the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS Hotas Joystick., The throttle has one 4 direction and one 8 directional knob for POV control. It also has a paddle like switch which can be set up as either a simple switch or an axis! The T16000 has the ability to be switched between left hand and right hand use using a few interchangeable parts, which is good new for the lefties out there., If you intend to use the stick with a HOTAS throttle, like the VKB STECS, Thrustmaster TWCS, etc. then the throttle will be left hand only, so you would need the right hand stick. Other throttle quadrants like the Thrustmaster Airbus/Boeing or Honeycomb Bravo can be used fine from either side, so it’s more personal preference..
