I'm going to Washington for a conference this week, and I reserved a seat on NER 67 from Baltimore to Washington for Monday morning. On Saturday, I got a text, email, and phone call from Amtrak saying the trip was cancelled. This was when the forecast called for 1- 3 inches of snow. MARC is still planning regular service, though I expect that this evening they will announce they're going on the snow schedule, as the Weather Service is now forecasting 5-9 inches. Should be fun, I need to go downstairs to make sure the snow shovels and salt ore readily available. This is my first Amtrak trip. I am travelling from Pittsburgh, PA to New York City, NY on the Pennsylvanian; and then from New York City, NY to Washington DC on the Acela Express. Both the tickets , I also forgot to mention a third-party site that books Amtrak coach tickets - Wanderu: Search & Compare Cheap Bus and Train Tickets You'll pay the same price and receive an e-ticket from Amtrak.
