First off, here's a link to the manufacturer's page: Samson SR950 And here's the frequency response curve, as provided by the manufacturer: I must say after listening, this seems to be an accurate representation of these headphones. I've broken these in for about 40 continuous hours and have noticed a bit more bass response put of them., Samson's closed back SR950 is rated at 32 ohms, the same as the HD662. That leaves a few options (not in any sort of order): A) Samson changes the drivers in the 850, but not the 950. B) Samson does not change the drivers and labelled the 850 wrong. C) Samson replaces the drivers in both models with the same part. D) Superlux is messing up somehow., SR950 is more bassy at the expense of soundstage and clarity. SR850 is more spacious and detailed. If you want boosted bass for EDM, hip hop, and so on, then SR950 might serve you well, otherwise the SR850 is the wiser pick., Hi! I've been doing research for weeks, and I'm still confused. I know that I am going to buy Creative Sound Blaster Z, but I'm not sure about Samson SR950. I'm going to use them for gaming, and maybe a little bit for music. Are they better than Razer Kraken I have right now? Any other good, I do like the SR850 quite a lot and that is a really good price, IMO. As for the Superlux, I actually find the HD681 Evo to be overall a bit better for music than the HD681, which might be a bit more appropriate for gaming. I have not heard the SR950, so can't say on that one., I just ordered a Samson SR950 and it should be here in a few days. I thought it would be a good investment as headphones don't go obsolete and they seem to provide good perf/$. I only used the cheapest headphones before this. I don't listen to music as much nowadays, mostly some ost's or.
