Yes please! We are supposed to drive down to visit my in-laws the day after Xmas. It’s a 6+ hour drive normally, so I’m guessing with a 2 month old it will take more like 8+ if we’re lucky. There is also a pass that could be snowed in and closed. I’ve been very anxious about the drive, and ordinarily I would put it off a couple weeks and not go during the busiest travel time of the year. But, multiple in-law family units will all be at MIL/FIL’s house so we thought that was the best opportunity to see everyone. Only MIL and FIL have met our baby. So i was still anxious about the drive, but it seemed worth it to see everyone all at once. Even though we also have to pay for a hotel since there isn’t room at the house. And bonus! SIL and her husband, who live across the country, decided to fly out as well since everyone else would be in one place.Except we just now found out that one family unit has changed their plans, and in doing so has created a domino effect so that most of the family will no longer be there. But of course WE are still expected to show since SIL booked a flight (which I do understand sucks, but also, we aren’t the ones who caused this!)I am so pissed. His whole family is totally thoughtless and disrespectful of other people’s time and schedule. But it’s usually on a smaller scale. And I feel very hurt that they don’t care to meet our kid. I know he’s not as important to anyone as he is to us, but they have been giving a lot of lip service and Instagram comments about ”cant wait to meet him!” Etc. And the plans they are choosing instead are not time sensitive - they could go anytime. And now I seem like the bitch for even suggesting we put our visit off for a couple weeks. And maybe I am being unreasonable? But right now I am not seeing why we have to make the effort, when it’s the most inconvenient for us to travel and we are the ones assuming the most risk.I am just so fed up with his whole family., But people often take today to be the first day of the count, so if on Monday someone says "within 3 days" they are thinking day 1=today, Monday; day 2=Tuesday, day 3=Wednesday. There's also the perennial question of whether the last day ends on the multiple of 24 hours from the time when the deadline was given, if it means midnight of that day , In 2 weeks - i.e. in 14 days from now. Within 2 weeks - i.e. during today or the next 14 days, not later. But what about "within 100-200 days"? I would say "from now and not later than in 100-200 days". But a native speaker told me that actually it means "from 101th to 200th day", i.e. not from now till the upper limit..
