As far as performance. most of the forums said that with the 16 pto hp the biggest I could run would be 48". Didn't want to hear that because didn't really want to go from 60" to 48" as I was hoping to use the mower for both the lawn and brush. Flail pro: finer cut, quieter, less bulky for storage or manuvering. Still able to cut brush and depending on how heavy duty the flail is, flails can cut anything a bush hog rotary mower can.
