Not only do we have a great course, but we have a great history. You will note that our logo is a castle and as you wait to walk down to the 7th Tee box, on your left, you will see the location of the original Castle, now privately owned [constructed by Anastasia Archdeacon in 1696 and it is said that it cost her only a groat (4 pence)]. The Castle served as our clubhouse until we relocated to our present location to accommodate the demand for membership. We have seen a great interest recently in membership of the Club. We are currently open for 2023 applications, more information is available in the membership section of the website. Our interesting history is available in the beautiful centenary book published in 2009, sponsored by Tom McCarthy Snr. ., The coming of the railway in 1837 changed the topology of the coast and led to Monkstown becoming a commuter suburb of the city of Dublin. Most of the houses along Monkstown Road and the avenues north of that road were constructed over the next 30 years., Back in 1908 Monkstown GC was a 9-hole course, today Monkstown Golf Club is one of the foremost 18-hole golf Clubs in Munster, a testimony to our members love of golf down the years and top-class greenkeeper, Martin Travers, and staff..
