Revolver chamber liners Question for you machinists out there, would it be possible to line a revolver cylinder, similar to relining a barrel? I'm asking as I'd like a Ruger Old Model 3 screw .357 in 32-20, and currently the only way to get one is to buy a rather expensive custom cylinder from Bowen Classic Arms., Does anyone have photos and or a measured drawing for a line boring jig for a revolver cylinder? I have been trying to figure this process out, with little luck. I can't see how a reamer would not just follow the existing hole in the cylinder and i can't figure out how to bore the steps necessary for the chamber profile with a boring bar. How is "line boring" a revolver cylinder better than , I’ve seen articles and videos of people re-cutting their revolver’s forcing cone for better performance with cast bullets. Usually they are shooting for 11° forcing cones. Although there is info on how to do it, and why they do it, I never hear if it actually improves their accuracy with cast bullets. Can anybody share their results? Thank you in advance., Changing the rebound spring is a good way to improve trigger pull in S&W revolvers. They usually come in 13, 14, & 15 pound strengths. First remove the rebound slide and polish the two bearing surfaces on a flat, fine whetstone. Install the 13 pound spring and try it, if the trigger fails to reset with authority, try 14 pounds, etc. I like to lubricate most surfaces with a mixture of gun oil , Thread Tools 11-19-2024,11:52 AM #1 Green Frog Boolit Grand Master Join Date Nov 2008 Location Central VA Posts 6,159 Favorite 32 Revolver Bullets, 14cal Alford Jones Express rimfire caliber revolver Turned out the seller got back to me and said exactely what you said: a 22 long cartridge necked down to 14; pretty small bullet ! The guy says works and lock up fine. Wants $150 for it. If I buy it , I would probably try to get a gunsmith to ream the chamber and barrel to make a 22 LR work in it..
