The corsets of that time were tightly laced, and it was impossible to remove them without the help of a maid. The first pantaloons were distinguished by their cut: they consisted of two separate parts that were attached to a belt at the waist, leaving the seam at the crotch level open. Only towards the end of the 19th century were both parts of the pantaloons finally sewn together. The new fashion caused a mixed reaction: the conservative part of the female population accused the youth of loose morals, since a completely covered intimate area was considered indecent. The beginning of the 20th century was marked by a real revolution in the world of underwear. Coco Chanel introduced revolutionary panties-knickers, which were distinguished by their minimal length and simple cut. She suggested sewing women's underwear from knitwear, like men's, which made it more comfortable and practical. This step became an important milestone in the history of fashion. In the mid-20th century, another revolution occurred – the appearance of a two-piece swimsuit known as a bikini. This moment changed the perception of women's underwear forever. Modern panties have become much smaller and almost invisible on a woman's body. Today, with so many beautiful lingerie options to choose from, pantaloons may seem less sexy and even a little old-fashioned.
