I worked in a gift store for 7 years before becoming a craftsperson. People may like efficiency, but they PREFER that their items are wrapped with some care so that these items do not get damaged!!!It depends on the piece of jewellery and whether it's already displayed on a card or not. I don't like the idea of a pendant and chain just thrown at the bottom of a plastic, paper or organza bag where the chain can get tangled or scratch the pendant, or earrings rubbing each other after I've done ALL the work of giving these pieces a good polish or a surface treatment.Wrapping in tissue doesn't take much time and I know my customers appreciate that when they unwrap their purchase at home, it will look as good as when they bought it. I also suggest that they store their metal jewellery in the zip lock provided when they aren't wearing it, to reduce tarnishing and oxidation. If a pendant is displayed on a card and won't move around, then it goes straight into the clear zip bag without needing tissue. I still wrap earrings even if these are on a card, because I don't want the individual earings rubbing against each other. In fact, I take the price tags off all jewellery as I sell it unless the customer requests otherwise. That way they can immediately give the jewellery as a gift without worrying if they've removed the price tag or not, and being embarrassed if the tag is still on the jewellery and is seen by the receiver., A little over 2 weeks ago, a buyer messaged me, claiming that an item was missing from their order - it was a vintage dress with a self fabric tie belt, they are claiming that the tie belt was not in the package. Even though I know without a doubt the belt made it into the package, I looked around , Photo session from the Refuge on Mt Tamalpais, Mill Valley, CA.
