Panera Bread will open its ninth Louisville-area cafe tomorrow morning at 1534 Bardstown Road, in the old building known in the 1930s as the Laib Company, then a plumbing fixture store. (Editor's note: Google Maps indicates that this is the portion of the old Ear X-tacy that Seviche didn't use?, I also thought the same "How do they stay open" with such overhead and seasonal sales. I thought the Shelbyville Rd. twisters was owned or partially owned by the son of the local Panera Bread Franchise owner and that they had anticipated similar expansion with the custard concept. How much do you spend on dessert vs breakfast, lunch and dinner?, I hear you, and if any round bread with a hole in the middle that isn't a donut works as a bagel for you, more power to you.
